End and beginning of a cycle

Present since the creation of SUMA and partners for almost 3 decades, the operation to separate the two shareholders Mota-Engil and URBASER was completed, with Mota-Engil acquiring all of SUMA in the core segments: urban waste collection and treatment services, and public cleaning, including the international activity of the subsidiaries in Angola, Brazil, Mozambique and Oman, having sold the industrial waste business to the previous shareholder.

Mota-Engil’s commitment to the environment as one of the Group’s growth vectors demonstrates SUMA’s key position in its ability to generate value in the future.

Mota-Engil’s dynamics and size open up a number of opportunities for expansion, particularly in accelerating the

internationalization of environmental businesses, supported by the Group’s know-how and international presence.
