SUMA launches environmentally friendly fleets

The waste collection and container washing operations carried out by SUMA, in the municipalities of Figueira da Foz and Coimbra, recently launched equipment powered by natural gas.

The organization’s continuous commitment to sustainability involves high investments, also with a view to reducing carbon emissions, namely through the purchase of vehicles that, when using a fuel that reduces the percentage of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere (25% less compared to gasoline and diesel), bet on improving air quality for the populations served.

To the optimized technical characteristics, the new equipment combines an awareness component, which calls for the civic participation of waste producers and the generation of positive energy, in compliance with the basic rules of urbanity.
