Focus on worker safety

In a perspective of evolution and continuous improvement, resulting from the constant risk assessment by the security team and the search for best practices and work tools, after a period of study and testing, SUMA proceeded to introduce its teams to the new personal protective equipment (PPE).

Assuming the form of an individual helmet – adjustable, comfortable and ventilated – for all workers who perform functions in the stirrups of vehicles, this new PPE provides an additional protection measure against possible risks resulting from falls, aiming to reduce the impact of the same .

The distribution of this equipment in the service centers began in February, using quantities estimated for each contract, as well as replacement units, making a total of one thousand units purchased.

The pioneering spirit of SUMA and the constant search for risk mitigation and investment in the safety and well-being of workers are, once again, very evident with the introduction of this helmet, which has become mandatory to use, from 9 March, despite the absence of a legal requirement for its use.
