RIMA contributes to support health professionals

3.4.2020

In the moment of great constraint that we are going through, on a national scale and as a global community, there are many entities that” close the gap “in the fight against COVID-19,” diverting “their regular production to manufacture materials for the prevention of contagion, namely supplying absences identified by the SNS.

In the spirit of fulfilling a civic duty, RIMA, a company in the SUMA universe that manages the waste landfill in Lousada, contributed 170 kg of support materials for the production of protective visors for use by health professionals.

The materials, velcro and elastic, from the textile industry and screened for possible recovery, were delivered to the company Quadrivale, a habitual producer of electrical panels, serving the final product of protection to doctors and nurses at the Padre Américo Hospital, in Penafiel, and the Hospital of Santa Maria da Feira.

Thus, in addition to mobilizing for a common emerging objective, RIMA again proves that it is possible to reconcile the practice of reuse with the suppression of real needs.
